I’m looking for a good durable motorcycle, and not anything like a Kawasaki ninja or anything like that something like chopper or something, I’m wanting one because they are cheap and most are good on gas. dad says I should get a Harley but I don’t know if those are any good, I liked the one he had last which was a Honda shadow aero, but he sold it instead of giving it to me, all well it had an oil filter problem, for some reason everytime we put a new oil filter on it would leak and get into the air filter some how, anyways, what should I get I’m a big guy but not too big like 5-10′ and 245 lbs

the Gold Wing was the only foreign ASSEMBLED bike on American soil. There are nothing wrong with Harleys either. They are a bike that requires more attention than the metric counterparts as far as maintaining service intervals, but it’ll last you a looooong time if taken care of. They are not the leaking bikes they once were and what you may not know and haven’t been told is that the old Harleys were designed to leak. engine oil trickled onto the primary chain but still sported a dry clutch. Later there was a return but put contaminated oil into engine. Anyway. Honda has a newer bike out called the Fury, chopper looking and should be mostly maintainence free execpt for fluid changes due to shaft drive and hydraulic lifters. pretty sharp looking . As for your father’s old bike, sounds like it was overfilled with engine oil. That will cause it to push oil into the air box, but it’s gone now. shop around, sit on them and get a feel for the control layout. Even some bike cc bikes are small in stature. Test ride them if you can. My personal opinion – I’m a Harley man, but if i weren’t on a Harley, I’d be on a Honda. Clean lines, good ergonomics, run good, and ease of maintainence.

Im talking about his charges stemming from drunk driving and hitting a guy on a Bike.

He is changing plea to no contest, last I read. He will most likely face 9 years unless his counsel can prove mitigating circumstances. (What can trump blowing twice the limit who knows) He settled on damages with the family of the victim, out of court. He is being sued by the girl that was in the truck with him because she cant work. His house is in foreclosure. Shop last reported is closed to public and you can only buy his stuff online.

I would like to get a Motorcycles license and wondering how much would it cost and approx. how long would it take to get it.

also… what types of motorcycles are good for a young adult and is affordable. dollar range (800-3,000) (used)

Well I don’t recommend this but I bought my first bike, drove it around the yard at the dealers and went two or three days later( the first weekend) to take the tests, both skill and written. Passed them first time, paid 5 bucks to ad the endorsement to my license and went about my two-wheeled business.

Ok were not gonna be an outlaw club or a 1% club. Were just a group of motorcycle enthusaist that want to ride together. I want to know would the name disciples of anarchy be to close to sons of anarchy or would it be alright to use. I already looked it up and nobody is using it. we ride american motorcycles and thats all.

Disciples already roam your neck of the woods. Unless your ready for whatever, I STRONGLY suggest you take a name that links you to no 1%’s out there.

If all you allow is American bikes, as a Vet, I salute you, but I would look to our founding fathers for inspiration.

Has anyone or know of any motorcycle transmission that I can add to my custom built motorcycle> Currently I have a 23 HP B&S Vtwin vanguard.
With a Comet CVT. I would like to have a 4, 5 or 6 speed transmission with a clutch.

He man. What you are trying to do is a good idea. Don’t let anybody talk you down. I’m a 51 year old that is doing the same thing, I also ride Harley Davidson and Brit bikes. The Vanguard will probably be a very durable engine requiring less work as long as you keep it up,,,may out-last most bike engines.

One of your biggest problems isn’t finding the tranny as long as you can get it to mount to the frame. What you are going to have problems with will be the link between the two, it will require machining. Damned near any tranny in 4-5 or 6 speed should work. Try looking at Baker, Ultima and if at all possible, use a British tranny. Check e-bay.

You aren’t going to use the CVT are you? An open belt primary at about 1.5 inch will do you. You may have to spend the bucks but I wouldn’t go over 600 bucks.
