It was certainly Robotech. Robotech was actually 3 separate Japanese anime series re-edited and overdubbed to create a single epic storyline. The first two series used were related; the last had nothing to do with the others. The names of the series were Super-Dimensional Fortress Macross, Super-Dimensional Cavalry Southern Cross, and Genesis Climber Mospeada (that last had the motorcycles, the others had Veritech airplanes).

Yeah, people that don’t ride can’t tell the difference. They use Harley as a generic term for cruiser just like they would use brand names like Band-Aid, Coke, Jello,and Saran Wrap.

I have planned to travel to Italy and I already have a Japanese automatic car driving licence. Is riding a motorcycle (scooter, vespa, 50 cc, 125 cc, …) with a passenger permitted in Rome using such kind of driving licence?

You would need an international drivers license (IDL) to be legal in Italy. If the Scooter, (not motorcycle) has two seats then you can carry a passenger. If not you can’t. The IDL is only $15 so it won’t break the bank for your trip.

most of the assembly is done at the factory. (whether it be in japan or usa or mexico…)

Many bikes are crated and shipped without the wheels, handlebars, gas tanks, seats or "plastics" installed (or any combination of those items)

the dealership uncrates them, unwraps the pieces, and puts them on the bike…fill up all fluids, and tests them for proper function…
