I love those fake german helmets because they’re so small but I think it’s time I get something with actual protection. So what are some small options?
Gotta agree with the other answer- buying a half-helmet is just a way to get "legal"
I’ve worked in the bike industry for 20 years as a mechanic, I’ve raced, I’ve ridden for 30 years and owned 61 bikes. I have NEVER in my life seen anyone who wrecked that hit the parts of his head that a 1/2 helmet covers. I’d say 90% pop the stink out of the chin bar, which is exactly what opponents of full-face helmets don’t have. We used to display wrecked helmets on the wall at our dealership, and what a surprise: none of them had any damage on the top half, other than a few very minor scratches. But where your jaw is, your mouth, your nose? BUSTED the FRAK UP. And I mean bad, too. I have four busted helmets myself, and dude I’m telling you if they were halfsies I wouldn’t be able to freakin chew.
As long as something in you woke up to the fact that you’re vulnerable (and not immune to an accident) please God step up and get a full-face. I’ve heard "I’m claustrophobic" for 25 years, dude- you’ll get over it in, like… a week. "I can’t see" is another lame excuse- the eyeports in full-face helmets go almost back to your ears, where you can’t see anyway.
IF you have to get a 1/2, they only make about a billion of em. Get to a bike shop and look at a Tucker-Rocky catalog. I don’t know if they have online shopping, but legitimate manufacturers are Shoei, Arai, HJC, Icon, Shark, KBC, Kiwi (hard to find), Nolan… they almost all make 1/2s because people are gonna buy em.
But I won’t.
One wreck is all it would take, and I know how suddenly crap can go wrong. I totalled a PC800 Honda while STOPPED at an intersection! Total idiot was driving north while looking south and rammed me. I faceplanted and I wasn’t even dadgum MOVING, so it’s not how safe you are, or how skilled. If crap’s gonna happen, you might as well be as armored-up as you can get. Not to mention you can hear better wearing a full-face.
Oh well. Do what you’re gonna do, but man try a full-face. Either way, remember you get what you pay for- a crap helmet will hurt your head. That’s the bad thing about Arai helmets- they’re so dang luxurious they spoil you. Shoei too. And it’s true what they say: you either have a Shoei head or an Arai head. If an Arai is comfortable to you, a Shoei will give you a headache, and vice-versa. They have different ideas about human heads, and it show in their helmets.
Get to a dealer, put the helmet of your choice on, and keep it on as long as you can manage. 20 minutes with the wrong helmet will kill your head, and you can definitely feel it. A new helmet will be "too tight" feeling. If it slips right on with no pulling or pressure, it’s too big. It will compress as you wear it, and a new, smooth-fitting helmet will become broken in and it will be like wearing a big bell on your head in a few weeks. Don’t ever let anyone wear your helmet- their skull will ruin the fit by overcompressing the EPS liner in places that YOUR head doesn’t. REALLY. And don’t hang the thing on your mirror either- that will also compress the EPS liner in the helmet and ruin it.
Good luck, man. Grats on getting safer.

lol well I like the full faced better but not for a harley style bike, I think it looks dumb, my dad always makes fun of his friend who wears one…but our bike came with just german style..so idk
*IF* motorcycle helmets were effective in preventing death
*THEN* those States with mandatory helmet laws would have a significantly lower death rate per motorcycle accident.
The truth is, those States with mandatory helmet laws have an insignificantly higher death rate per motorcycle accident. Statistically a helmet offers very little protection.
You have those who have smashed their heads and survived, and thus praise helmets. You never hear from those who crashed and died while wearing helmets. Personally, I have been riding since 1964 and have never struck my head against a hard surface — always seemed to be a silly thing to do.
If you are going to wear a helmet for the protection it offers, a full face helmet is most effective. IMHO, anything less is simply to comply with the Law. Wear whatever you like.

I’m looking for a motorcycle helmet that is the old german style. I ordered one but it sits too high on my head and doesn’t look right. I would like one that is more low profile. Where can I find one?
1. modify the helmet you have as needed…
2. or do a google search, "buy german motorcycle hemet"…
Does this help any?

How about a month for the nation that has indisputably contributed more to the USA than any other, including food?
Did you know that your "Hot Dog" comes from Germany?
Did you know that your "Hamburger" comes from Germany?
Did you know that your all-American "Apple Pie" comes from Germany?
Did you know that your dairy industry was founded exclusively by Germans? Not only the American, but that of many other countries as well, such as Chile for example.
Did you know that Oscar Meyer of meat-packing fame, was German? The finest meat-packing companies in South America are those from the South of Chile, purely of German origin, going back 150 years!
Did you know that the greatest American car ever built, the mighty DuesenbergImperial Hotel Auto Museum in Las Vegas Nevada to see the greatest collection of Duesenbergs on the planet.
Did you know that the most famous Japanese car ever built, the Datsun 240 Z was designed by Albrecht Goertz, a German designer?
Did you know that the most revolutionary Japanese motorcycle of all time, the Suzuki Katana of 1980, was designed by a design studio in Germany?
Did you know that Porsche Design redesigned & thereby saved your American icon, the Harley-Davidson? Harley on their own was going broke. After the Porsche reworked it has become one of the most recognized names in the motorcycle world. By all rights, today’s Harleys ought to be known as Porsche/Harleys. The initial re-design wasn’t the end of it. All subsequent models have been designed mostly by Porsche.
Did you know that the entirety of NASA was founded by German engineers and is based on German technology? That the moon rocket of 1969 was a grandson of the famed V2 rocket of Germany? That all space exploration is based on the German model? One hears TV reporters waxing eloquently about the now defunct Russian MIR space station, while assiduously ignoring that it’s based on German technology and that the German engineers who were kidnapped by the Russians were worked to death. None of them ever saw their families again. Mustn’t embarass our former allies now, must we? But abusing the Germans is a safe bet.
Yes, we should.

FOUND : German Tourist lost in the Gibson Desert.
Mark Joseph.
After 2 days of searching, rescuers have found a German tourist, at the verge of death, lost in the extreme heat of the Gibson desert yesterday.
Concerns were raised as the Germana tourist did not arrive at his destination as planned. His friends alerted police immediately and a search for the missing tourist was soon organised.
Police search teams endured extreme temperatures of the Gibson Desert for 2 days before finding the German tourist. The desert located in Western Australia exceeded temperatures of 50 degrees Celsius during the past week. The German tourist was found alive, but delirious.
Police Commander Phillip Boatman praised his search team for their job in finding the lost tourist.
” We knew the heat was tough. And we knew what the odds were in finding the German Tourist. But my team never gave up and endured through the temperatures to find the tourist. And in moments like this, it makes me proud to be their commander. ”
It is allegedthatt the German tourist’s back pack fell off hismotorbikee and as a result, the tourist turned back in order to retrieve it. He quickly grew dizzy from hunger and was gettingdehydratedd in the desert heat.
Local Zodi Pitchfork, who lived in the outdoors for nearly 10 years claimed that it was a miracle the German tourist was found alive.
” In the impossible conditions; the 50 degrees heat and his shortage of supplies, it is a shere miracle that he was able to survive for 2 days. ”
The tourist was fed fluids intravenously at the local hospital where he made a steadfast recovery. He was dismissed from the hospictal at 10am Monday and is currently resting at Warburton hotel. The German tourist plans to continue his motorcycle tour to Ayers Rock.
A practice newspaper i wrote for a test. Any tips on improving?? Comments??? THank you.
Good article…Lots of misspellings German in the 2nd paragraph. Organized in the 2nd paragraph. Hospital in the final paragraph, also some errors in spacing in paragraph 5.
You may also want to give the "tourist" a name, to avoid repetitiveness of the term for example, "Tourist Sean Brown was not expected to live in the excruciating heat conditions he endured in the desert.. Brown is believed to have lost his backpack during his travel after it fell off his motor cycle. When going back for his pack, Brown became disoriented in the desert heat from dehydration and hunger deprivation. "

Or are e-motorcycles taxed based on German law about carbon dioxide emissions and such?
In most European countries the rules are like this:
* Insurance is very very cheap or even free
* No yearly fee, to keep "plates" on
* Free charging, atleast here in Norway
* Free tollways, doesnt have to pay like 5 dollars when you drive on the freeway.

If the Germans sent 1,300 infantry troops to take a city, about how many of those troops would use blitz motorcycles for transport, how many would use jeeps for transport, and how many would march?
In true blitzkrieg, you don’t take the city, you skip past it and do one or more of the following:
1) Take the port that supplies it
2) Cutoff and surround the army that is being sent to reinforce the city (they know your army is near the city and assume you will attack it so they send an army to defend it from you, but you never attack the city…)
3) capture and either convert or destroy airfields. (I say "convert" because not all airfields are capable of handling every type of plane since the landing strip might not be thick or long enough for certain planes)
4) capture supply dumps (especially fuel) – If you’re fast enough, everyone will be gathering supplies in certain locations for easier distribution to front line forces. Easy pickings if you can prevent the enemy from destroying it before you get to it.
Keep in mind that blitzkrieg also relies heavily upon airpower to crack point defenses (strongholds / strong points along a defensive line like a pillbox or machine gun nest). So when you mention amounts of motorized forces, you also need to account for close-in air support as well since its key to blitzkrieg.
