where can I buy some custom patches for my motorcycle club?

Im founding a motorcycle club and I need some colors, Ive got the designs down, I just need somewhere to get some custom patches, I have the top and bottom rockers, and the center piece. I dont want this too pricey either…Under 50$ Anyone got an idea?

Your best bet is to go through your states MC Coalition or your states controlling MC. They will know the best place to get your cut from and make sure it is put on correctly.

Although this is all assuming of course that you’ve been given permission to MC. Trying to MC without proper approval or I should say, trying to patch without doing so, could put you in a per-carious situation.

im designing an alternative energy engine for a motorcycle or street legal scooter, and i cant seem to find laws on that sort of thing. i checked the dmv website, but to no avail. any ideas where to look?

DMV just covers the rules regarding rolling components (lights, windshield, brakes, driver, etc). The engine and emissions are covered by CARB California Air Resources Board http://www.arb.ca.gov/homepage.htm – however, unless you are planning on making something that will be put into production, a custom engine will only need to meet your local emissions test.

How do you keep inspired when building a custom motorcycle?

I’m half way through the project now, summers getting here and the end result is still a long, long way away……… Struggling to get the inspiration to carry on with it, but I know I want to!! Any similar experiences?

If you can, generate a computer picture of what it will look like as a finished product. Then make at least 4 copies of the pic…. post them in conspicuous places where you cannot avoid seeing them. Call in the best mechanic you know to help out. You buy the beer, but not too much. Thats what we do: we help out each other. Make sure the other guy shares your vision, and stay up all week long and finish it….

When you build a motorcycle with a fat rear wheel, you need to extend a sprocket outwards to match the new chain line.

It has bearings on it, and a shaft/axle.

It’s called a spacer and it fits between the hub and sprocket and has nothing to do with the axle and bearing. You can also buy a sprocket with offset built into it. Try Custom Chrome or Drag Specialties. You also want to get a wheel with a wider hub to compensate for the width of the rim.
You usually need to use a combination of parts to pull it off correctly, no one piece will fix it unless you are just going up one or two sizes in tire width.

My friend told me that a Triumph Speed Triple and KTM Superduke’s are streetfighters, even though they are stock bikes, but I thought they had to be custom to be streetfighters, what’s the real answer?

The definition of a streetfighter is a sport-based motorcycle, modified to be lighter, more powerful and have a more aggressive look. There is no such thing as a "factory streetfighter" other than the Ducati Streetfighter, and that’s just because they chose to name it that. I know they were only built from 1980 – 82. I own an 81. Just trying to figure the real value of my motorcycle.

You might be able to get that number from a dealer or by writing the manufacturer. The best way to see what it is worth is subscribe to magazines like cycle trader and see what they are selling for. Your local dealer can also tell you what they are selling for. Browse the classifieds and make note of how much people are asking when you see one listed. There are several online motorcycle classifieds you can browse also.

I did work with a man who bought a CB I think 600? or maybe it was a 750? Anyway smaller then yours and he fixed it up replaced everything that needed replaced and had a professional paint job and he had a little over $1200.00 for invested and just out of the blew he was at a store and a man offered him $2500.00 cash and he took it.

does any one know a site or a place that i can get a motorcycle helmet customized with like a anime pic or something? can you take helmets to places that does custom paint jobs and get it done there ?

any helmet can be custom painted. but it is not going to be cheap. call one of the local bike dealers where you live they should know who in your area paints helmets.

I’ve been thinking it would be fun to build a custom motorcycle using an engine from a 300ex or 400ex ATV. I can think of multiple problems initially, one of which is how to obtain a title to make it street legal. Could I buy a parts bike with a title and use it for my custom bike if I use some parts from it as well?

Anybody done anything like this?
